🦄 The real reason I vanished this week

I built a strategy that could 10x your visibility — and I’m finally sharing it

I’ve done SEO for over 10 years.

I’ve ranked sites. Grown affiliate blogs. Scaled startups (and still do).

So when I launched BuildSolo…

You’d think I’d go all-in on SEO, right?

I didn’t.

I ignored it completely.

Why?

Because I didn’t want to write fluff.

I didn’t want to crank out 2,000-word listicles stuffed with keywords and zero soul.

And once ChatGPT took over the SERPs?

I was convinced:

Informational content was a dead end.
SEO was noise.
And I had better things to build.

So I chose Twitter instead.

Posted every day. Built in public.
And grew an audience faster than I ever did through Google.

But Here’s the Thing...

Every time I opened GA4 and saw that big, fat 0 next to “Organic”...

My stomach turned.

I’ve been on the front lines of SEO long enough to know:

Organic search is still one of the most powerful, high-intent, compounding channels out there.

It’s just not the same game anymore.

You don’t win with articles.

You win with assets.

The New Strategy

After some thinking (and chats with SEO OG friends), I realized:

The rules have changed.

But there’s still a way to win for solo builders.

And it looks nothing like SEO in 2015.

So this time, I’m doing it my way:

→ No content mills
→ No BS listicles
→ No praying for backlinks

Here’s what I am doing:

  • Publishing content that’s actually helpful (and just barely optimized)

  • Building tools that people actually use — tools that get shared, linked to, bookmarked

  • Doing it all in public — because trust builds faster when people see you working

And no, I’m not making tools for LLMs to scrape.

I’m making tools for humans.
That solve real problems.
And bring real traffic.

What’s Next

For the next 6 months?

I’m committed.

  • More free tools

  • More helpful content

  • Maybe even some link building

And no — I’m not quitting Twitter.

I’ll keep showing up here just like I used to.

This week just hit hard because I didn’t balance the effort this new channel needed.

But that’s the reality of building solo.

Some weeks, you sprint.

Others, you recalibrate.

Not a growth hack.

A marathon.

And I’m inviting you to watch it unfold.

See you next week.
